The Lambda Clan is expanding, thanks to you! (Recap and plans ahead)
It’s been 4 months since we first posted about our scholarship, and what a journey it has been for the team! Today we want to share what we have been doing in the past 4 months, what we are doing today, and what we have in the pipeline for the future. (Hint: It’s going to be exciting!)
A Humbling 4 Months
When we started this scholarship, we were not expecting the response we would get, neither did we expect Axie Infinity to blow up so much! From less than 40,000 Daily Active Users to over 800,000 DAU, not to mention the huge wave of scholarships sprouting, left and right, it was incredibly humbling for us to know that we contributed to pioneering the Play-To-Earn movement in Malaysia.
Started with 8 scholars and just 3 team members, we have grown to near 200 scholars and 10 team members, with more than 2,000 applications in 4 months, not to mention our Discord has grown 7x in size. It is extremely exciting and scary at the same time, but we are glad that we are helping people to find themselves in the cryptoverse.
In order to maintain the integrity of our original goal, which is to make crypto beginner-friendly and providing opportunities to everyone, we have made the decision to close our application form on Aug 1 00:00 UTC.
We will hold off any further application indefinitely with the goal of clearing a backlog of over 1,000 applications, at the same time we will also be pausing breeding internally, and instead focus on existing scholars and axies, to make sure we can provide the best experience for everyone.
It is not easy for us to make these decisions as we want to provide opportunities to everyone, but we also want to ensure the integrity and quality maintains throughout. Building a Better Future
We believe a good scholarship doesn’t just rely on a decent SLP cut for scholars, but an overall experience as a community. We are in plans to host internal and inter-scholarship events, as we speak we are finalizing details with local scholarships and more details will be out soon! In the meantime, we have also submitted a proposal for Axie Esports Grants Program!
Instead of focusing on organizing a competitive scene, we believe that an event that makes Axie Infinity more enjoyable as a player is much more important. Fingers crossed that our proposal gets through, so we can host something cool for everyone!
Upcoming Plans
We understand that being a scholarship, we focus on managerial matters, rather than understanding the game in a more in-depth manner. So to improve our knowledge to empower our community further, we are hosting Lambda Clan Townhall every month and the first one will be on Aug 4, 6pm (UTC+8), so if you are a Lambda Clan Scholar, make sure to attend and share any ideas on how we can improve as a scholarship. We’re always excited for new and interesting ideas that help us grow!
